The De Anza College Tutorial and Academic Skills Center has reduced tutoring hours for non-basic skills courses, due to the lack of funding for the rest of the school year.
According to Tutorial Center coordinator Diana Alves De Lima, two-thirds of the center's funding comes from a Title 3 federal grant and California Basic Skills Initiatives financing, which must be used for basic skills classes (ESL and math classes below transfer level).
